1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how One Pixel Off ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Cropnine web application ("Service") at cropnine.com.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

We comply with the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications (transposing the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC) and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the website owner.

Similar technologies include pixels, web beacons, local storage, and session storage. In this policy, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies".

3. How We Use Cookies

We categorise cookies into the following types:

3.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They enable core functionality such as security, account authentication, and remembering your preferences. These cookies do not require your consent under the ePrivacy Directive, as they are strictly necessary for the service you have requested.

3.2. Analytics Cookies

4. Your Consent

4.1. When you first visit Cropnine, you will see a cookie consent banner at the bottom of the screen. You can choose to:

  • Accept all cookies: We will place necessary, analytics, and marketing cookies.
  • Accept necessary only: We will only place strictly necessary cookies.
  • Customise: You can choose which optional categories (analytics, marketing) you want to enable.

4.2. How we store your preference:

  • If you are a registered user, your cookie preferences are stored securely in our database, linked to your account. This ensures your preferences persist across devices and sessions.
  • If you are a guest visitor (not logged in), your preferences are stored in your browser session. If you later create an account, your preferences are automatically transferred to your account record.

4.3. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:

  • Clicking the cookie settings link in the footer of any page;
  • Clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site (the banner will reappear);
  • Contacting us at support@cropnine.com.

4.4. Withdrawing consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. After withdrawal, we will stop placing the relevant cookies, though cookies already stored on your device may remain until they expire or you delete them manually.

5. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

In addition to our cookie banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete individual or all cookies;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Block cookies from specific websites;
  • Block all cookies;
  • Delete all cookies when you close the browser.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.

6. Third-Party Cookies

We currently use only first-party cookies on Cropnine. Our payment provider Stripe may set cookies strictly necessary for secure payment processing; these are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. Should we add third-party optional cookies in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before any such cookies are placed.

7. Data Transfers

Strictly necessary cookies set by Cropnine are first-party and processed within the EEA. Stripe, our payment processor, may process associated data outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See our Privacy Policy for full details on international data transfers.

8. Legal Framework

Our use of cookies is governed by:

  • The Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications (Art. 129), as amended — transposing the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended by 2009/136/EC);
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation — GDPR), in particular regarding consent requirements for personal data processing through cookies;
  • Guidelines of the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA/APD) on the use of cookies and similar technologies;
  • Guidelines 05/2020 of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) on consent under the GDPR.

9. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add new cookies or change cookie providers. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.

If we add new categories of optional cookies, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner before placing them.
